FALL 2022 ATF MEETING ANNOUNCEMENT

For the past two years, AZTransfer facilitated the work of the Arizona Transfer System through virtual Articulation Task Force (ATF) meetings. As restrictions are lifted and our colleges and universities are welcoming people back to campus, AZTransfer has also updated its fall 2022 ATF meeting options.

The AZTransfer Executive Committee recently met and decided to return to in-person meetings. Virtual and hybrid components will continue to be available. This applies to all discipline-specific ATFs as well as the Admissions & Records ATF, Academic Advising ATF, General Education ATF, AZTransfer Executive Committee, and AZTransfer Steering Committee.

Meeting information will be updated on each ATF's portal page. Meeting participants will also receive an email with details on how to participate virtually 30 days prior to the meeting.

Thank you for your continued support of the Arizona Transfer System. If you have any questions, please contact Kelly Robles, AZTransfer Executive Director, at

GENERAL EDUCATION UPDATE

In February 2021, the Arizona Board of Regents (ABOR) approved a new policy regarding general education at ABOR universities. Policy 2-210 requires Arizona State University, Northern Arizona University, and the University of Arizona to redesign their general education programs. In light of the new ABOR policy, advances in both general education strategies and guided pathways, and emerging 21st-century skills, the AZTransfer Steering Committee will be leading an effort to reimagine the structure and requirements of the Arizona General Education Curriculum (AGEC) over the next 18 months.

The AGEC has been an important tool for promoting student learning and effective transfer since it was created in the mid-1990s, and preserving this mechanism is critical. However, the structure and components of the AGEC have not substantially evolved since their creation nearly 30 years ago. This change introduces an opportunity for Arizona’s community and tribal colleges to bring the AGEC up-to-date in a way that will enhance student learning.

In the coming months, the AZTransfer Steering Committee will solicit input from various stakeholder groups, including Articulation Task Forces (ATFs) and relevant constituency groups, at each member institution. There is no action required on your part at this time.

FALL 2021 ATF MEETING ANNOUNCEMENT

AZTransfer has been discussing plans for conducting Articulation Task Force (ATF) meetings this fall. It is our goal to continue the work of the Arizona Transfer System through these meetings while keeping the health and safety of our faculty and staff a top priority.

The
AZTransfer Executive Committee met on March 17, 2021 and unanimously agreed that all AZTransfer ATF meetings will be held virtually through the remainder of 2021. This includes all discipline-specific ATFs as well as the Admissions & Records ATF, Academic Advising ATF, General Education ATF, AZTransfer Executive Committee, and AZTransfer Steering Committee.

Meeting information will be updated on each ATF's portal page. Meeting participants will also receive an email with details on how to participate virtually 30 days prior to the meeting.
